Don't worry about all the tabs

I hope that by now everyone understands that tab support in Totem, Banshee, Empathy, Pidgin (despite clear demand for it), Gnome panel, and the easy GTK tab support are all fake. All the images are just mockups.

So don’t worry, Gnome 3.0 will not feature tabs as the main UI improvement. There is no tab frenzy. Tabs are useful in some places but certainly not in all the programs we were collectively joking about.

Thanks to everyone for all the cool mockup images, I’ve had a few good laughs.
